Bridgestone, yes the popular tire maker is joining the e-book market as it recently displayed a prototype of its very own e-book reader which is so almost flexible that you’d think it’s actually made of paper. The still unnamed e-book reader utilizes electronic paper that can display content on screen even after turning it off. Most e-book reader uses LCD and e-ink for displaying e-book contents.

The protoype e-book reader was said to be just 5.88mm thick. This makes it thinner than the Amazon Kindle. It will have a 10.7-inch screen and a flexible circuit board to allow users to actually bend it.

Although I don’t see any reason why a flexibility of the ebook reader is important, still the Bridgestone e-book reader will be quite interesting to watch out for.

Bridgestone is set to test this device to consumers in spring of next year.
