Amazon Improves Kindle’s Battery Life, and Support for Native PDF Reader
Perhaps touting it’s upcoming rival, the Nook ereader by Barnes and Noble, Amazon today announced that they have improved the battery life of the Amazon Kindle by 85% than the previous. That means longer reading hours or 7 days to be exact and more value for your bucks if you get the Kindle.
In addition to this, Amazon Kindle also announced that the Kindle now has a native PDF reader. So does this mean that you can now download an ebook from other sources other than the Kindle store and read it on your Kindle? I know you can do that before but does Amazon encourages it now? If yes, well that’s the beauty of product competition.
Interestingly, the announcement came out just in time for the Holiday Shopping season. Perhaps to entice consumers to get the Kindle instead of its rivals.
Amazon Kindle are in full stock at the Kindle store, by the way.
Update: This is actually a firmware upgrade, so existing Kindle owners will have the feature activated the next time they use their Kindles.
