BenQ to Join the eReader Craze with its K60 nReader
Can you see the big picture now? It all started when Asus announced that they will be releasing the Eee Reader next year. After that short announcement from Asus, other companies followed suit, and we saw one announcement after another.
The newest company to join is none other than BenQ, another Taiwanese company which is also active in the netbook market, although not as successful as Asus.
BenQ is announces that it will be releasing its own-branded ereader called the BenQ nReader. And said ereader will debut as early as January 2010 in Taiwan.
BenQ is aiming to sell around 50,000 units of the nReader and 300,000 units globally, starting next year. Now that’s a huge goal, right?
Preliminary details of the BenQ nReader include 6-inch touchscreen EPD (electrophoretic display) panel, 2GB of memory via microSD cards. In addition the BenQ nReader will support ePub, BPDF, BHTML, BTXT formats as well as KJPG, BMP, and PNG. And it can also play mp3.
And yes, the BenQ nReader already has a price – around $279.76.
Now, I can’t wait for more details of the Asus Eee Reader.
