Second Wave of Nook Pre-Orders Delayed to Dec. 11

It looks like Barnes & Noble didn’t really anticipate that demand for its readers will exceed their expectations. The first wave of pre-orders were promised to be delivered starting November 30. This still holds true. While the second wave of pre-orders won’t come until Dec. 7, B&N said, it’s still fine since it’s only a couple of days later than November 30.

There were probably too many pre-orders that now, new customers who place their orders are being notified that their Nooks will be delivered on Dec. 11 instead of Dec. 7.

What isn’t clear though is whether those were promised to get their Nook on Dec. 7 will still get it on the said date.

Forrester Researcher Sarah Rotman Epps told WSJ consumers are so excited about the Nook and that they would be more than happy to receive the device before Christmas.

“We see Barnes & Noble playing a much larger role in 2010,” said Ms. Rotman.
