Are we now about to witness the start of the ereader explosion? Wasn’t it predicted to happen not until early 2010? Well, for Taiwanese network equipment maker Netronix, that may have to happen as early as end of 2009.

According to a Digitimes report, the company will be expanding its production of e-book readers due to increase in demand. In fact, 50% of the company’s current revenues were generated from the production of ebook readers.

In case you’re not aware (like I am), Netronix currently has 6 ebook readers on its catalog. Four of these are already available in the market while the other 2 are up for release in Q4 2009 and Q1 2010.

The EB600 Swiftie seems to have a similar set-up to the Sony PRS 600. Perhaps I have more chance of getting one of these in Australia as Sony isn’t releasing any ebook readers here (why?? who knows).
