Earlier this morning Barnes and Noble’s Nook, the original version just got a price cut. Current price is now only $199 from the previous $259. Then Amazon suddenly followed and lowered the price of the original Amazon Kindle from $259 to $199.

In addition, Barnes and Noble has also release a new Wi-Fi only version of the Nook. With a market price of $149, it is definitely a great buy.

Those are huge price cut. Makes you think if the popularity of the iPad has something to do with this.

What do you think?

By now, you’re probably swimming in the swamps of criticisms about the iPad and may be you’re beginning to wonder whether it will actually succeed upon release.

Actually I still believe that Apple will be able to pull this one through. The Apple iPad is a first generation product, so I kind of expected major shortcomings. But this does not affected my views towards it. I still believe that the iPad will still managed to get the sales up from early believers as well as critics.

Why? Because for one thing, I believe that the iPad will be a great e-book reader. Something that will put class into the e-reader market. It’s major purpose which Apple does not want to admit is to become a major contender in the e-reader market and for that it would be worthwhile to see how the iPad compares with other major e-book readers.

PaidContent just did that – compared the iPad’s features with the Amazon Kindle 2, Amazon Kindle DX, Sony Daily Edition, Barnes and Noble Nook, and Prologic Que. Take a look at their comparison table and find out for yourself whether the iPad stand a chance and deserves your buck.

So finally, it’s out. Apple’s highly anticipated product – let’s all welcome the – iPad!

Pretty crappy name for an Apple product right? But let’s not mind the name for a bit and drill down to one of the iPad’s function – it’s an E-Book Reader with it’s own E-Book Store or app called – iBooks. And Apple has partnered with four major publishers – Harper Collins, Penguin, MacMillan, Hatchett and Simon and Schuster.

The Apple iPad is going to change the e-book reader landscape!
