Personally, I think that if there’s one e-book reader that can give Kindle a run for its money, it’s got to be enTourage Edge’s dual-screen e-book reader. The Entourage Edge can easily beat the Kindle DX in terms of features, specs and price. It will be priced at $490, almost the same price as the Kindle DX Global Wireless Version.

Anyway, Entourage Edge was officially launched at CES 2010 and is expected to be available online starting February 10.

And here’s to give you an idea of what the Entourage Edge is capable of doig:

The enTourage eDGe is a dual-screen, WiFi-enabled electronic device that merges an e-paper screen with an LCD screen for enhanced interactivity. The left side is comprised of a 9.7” diagonal e-paper display, where users can easily read e-books in PDF and EPUB format, draw diagrams and take notes. The right side of the product is a 10.1” diagonal LCD screen for easy Web surfing, email and instant message composition and sending and video watching. This screen also includes a virtual keyboard for convenient typing. These two screens work uniquely together to make content more interactive, such as pulling up pages and images from the e-paper screen in color on the LCD, opening up video links from textbooks or dragging and dropping terms and names from the e-book into a Web browser to easily search for additional information.

In other words, it’s a pretty powerful portable device that serves as both an e-book reader and a netbook, priced relatively cheaper than the QUE Reader.

Netbook News is sharing footages of the enTourage eDGe ereader which was displayed during the IT Month event in Taiwan recently.

From what I can see from the video, it looks like the eDGe is going to be a great machine, especially with its dual-screen feature which would allow you to read ebooks on one screen and browse the Internet on the other screen. What’s even more exciting is the fact that the screen you used for browsing the Internet is touch-enabled.

It looks like Apple has many things to consider if indeed it is planning to release an Apple Tablet.

The enTourage eDGe is how good ereader could really get. Now, I’m really excited about this ereader.

It looks like the enTourage eDGe eReader is going to steal all the thunder in the upcoming CES 2010 event happening in Las Vegas on January 10. It has just been named an honoree for the International CES Innovations 2010 Design and Engineering Awards.

To get this citation, a product must be outstanding in design and exhibits cutting edge engineering.
