Wohoo! After the sudden noise about its e-book reader, the DR-750 it has suddenly become noisy on Asus end. Aside from what we learned that the Asus DR-750 will have a Wi-Fi, 3G and 122-hour battery life, Engadget is now reporting some more juicy details about it.

First, the Asus DR-750 will be running on a speed of .03 second page turns which is about 23 times faster than the Kindle. It will also have a 4GB onboard storage with SDHC expansion slot, 512 MB of RAM, built-in RSS reader, text-to-speech feature, built-in web browser, and a 1530mAh battery.

There might also be support for online video streaming through Amazon video on demand, although I’m not really counting on it as I don’t think Amazon will allow it to happen, considering that the Asus DR-750 will be competing with the Kindle.

It looks like Asus is targeting a multi-type of audience with its ebook readers since it will also have 3D gaming capability.

Asus really knows how to make the gadgets market pretty exciting. We can’t wait to hear more about the Asus E-book reader.

Suddenly, Asus decided to make some noise about its e-book reader. Fresh from the Times Online scoop regarding the Asus DR-750 e-book reader, here comes Electric Pig running a report on another version of the said e-book reader. This time it’s called the DR-950. And it will sport a 9-inch Sipix panel with 1024×768 resolution. It will also have touchscreen features as well as text-to-speech that can support up to 26 languages.

The DR-950 will have a web browser, virtual keyboard, handwriting input, RSS reader, dictionary.

It’s technical specs include – Wi-Fi, HSPA, optional WiMAX, data radios, 3.5mm headphone jack, stereo speakers, 4GB of internal memory, SD card expansion. It will support PDF, TXt, Audible, MP3 and DRM-free ePub.

By all means, the Asus DR-950 seemed fully loaded with good stuff. The only question left now is, who will be Asus’ content partners?

There you go. As if making as all know that they indeed are still coming out with an e-book reader despite than non-show at CES, well except for the encased in the glass case not to be touched prototype. Asus has just informed the Times Onlines that it’s e-book reader will push through before the year ends.

And now for some information. The Asus e-book reader shall have a 6-inch color OLED display, will be capable of playing Flash video, will have Wi-Fi and 3G and most importantly can last up to 122 hours.

And that’s all we know for now. Let’s just hope that Asus brings its e-reader in earlier this year and also hope that it will be priced affordably.

From what the folks at Ubergizmo spotted, the “Eee Reader” looks slim, almost as slim as a MacBook Air and seem to have dual touchscreen display.

And those were all they can say about the Asus Eee Reader. Nobody knows when it will come out or whether Asus will still release it as an e-book reader or perhaps as a tablet PC.

Those who have been waiting for Asus to announce the Eee Reader at the ongoing CES 2010 can kiss their hopes goodbye. Digitimes is reporting that Asustek is not in a rush to manufacture the Eee Reader, since they think that the future of e-book readers is still uncertain.

Another issue which is hampering Asustek’s manufacturing of the Eee Reader. is the lack of content providers. Asustek is currently exploring all possible options. So, releasing an Eee Reader without content partners will not be good for Asustek.

Asustek Chairman Jonney Shih said that the company already has the hardware and so it is not the major concern.

Is it really? Or is Asus still waiting for Apple to announce its iSlate and will observe how the market will react to it?
